Today, the Colombo High Court ordered the release of former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal and four others from a corruption case brought by the Bribery Commission.
The Colombo High Court issued this order after considering the defence’s preliminary objections, which challenged the case’s maintainability.
The Bribery Commission filed indictments against five individuals, accusing them of causing the government a loss of Rs. 1,843.3 million through the purchase of Treasury Bills in 2012.
