Despite the authorities ignoring his and the Catholic Church’s request to conduct a formal investigation into the Easter Sunday bombings, they will not give up the struggle and will renew the struggle and fight for justice, says Colombo Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith.
The Cardinal announced this yesterday (28) when he came to pay his last respects to the young mother who lost her life while receiving treatment after being seriously injured in the suicide attack on April 21, 2019.
Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, commenting, further said, “Those in power are not making any effort to reveal that truth. They expect us to accept what they say and hide it under the pillow. It is what they are used to. Their party, their leaders, are the ones who have used to hide everything under the sand without taking responsibility for the murders and disappearances that have happened in this country for many years. That is why we cannot expect justice from them. It is something we have seen for five years. Our requests were not taken into account even for a second. Therefore, we are really saddened by the great injustice done to these people at times like this. At this time, we would like to renew our willingness and desire to get the truth about this revealed.”
