Colombo Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith says that even though it has been 40 months since the Easter attack, justice has not yet been served. He said the country’s leaders do not want to investigate the terrorist attack on Easter Sunday because their participation in it will be revealed.
The Archbishop says there must be some secret here, and if the leaders are honest and uninvolved, they should not be afraid of investigation.
Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith said this while participating in the blessing service held yesterday (21st) at the Ragama Tewatta Basilica Church.
He said that life becomes dark because of partisan desires and that success does not mean winning wealth and power.
Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith said that the recent unfortunate events in the country show that selfishness and sin have been reigning in the country for 75 years. He said that everyone should change their lives to bring about social change.
The Archbishop said that when a group of leaders came to power and said they would create a righteous society, the country’s immoral social system was created. When they said miracles would be done in Asia, a big tower was built, and when they said they would bring prosperity to the country, six million people had to eat one meal. Those systems should be changed, he declared.
