The BBC Sandeshaya has stated that Gota-Ranil coalition government is preparing to print money as its first task.
This was stated in an interview with the journalist of the website Ranga Sirilal yesterday (13th). The main reason for the current unbearable rise in prices in the country was the indefinite printing and distribution of money by Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s government in June 2020.
Ranil Wickremesinghe states that three trillion rupees have been printed since Gotabaya came to power, and only 100 billion rupees remain. He has stated that the money should be reprinted with the parliament’s approval, and if not, the public servants will not even get their salaries.
