The Ministry of Energy states that the resumption of operations at the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery, which was closed due to a shortage of crude oil, will be further delayed.
It was decided to resume operations at the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery tomorrow (27th), but due to the delay in the ship’s arrival with crude oil, the commencement of operations has been postponed until the 30th of next month, Ministry Secretary KDR Volga said.
The ship belonging to the Singaporean company, which has a long term contract to supply crude oil to Sri Lanka, was scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 24th. However, the ship is now scheduled to arrive at the Port of Colombo today (26th), the Ministry of Energy stated.
