One thousand days since the Easter attack! People are still shouting for justice – NPP

The National People’s Power emphasizes that everyone behind the planning of the Easter attack should be brought to justice regardless of their status.
Yesterday (14) marked 1000 days since the brutal Easter attack. The NPP issued a statement reminding that the masterminds of the attack have not been arrested yet, and the victims of the attack have been denied justice.
The National People’s Power expresses its support for all efforts to bring justice to the victims of the barbaric bomb blast as well as the families of all those affected by the attack.
The NPP announcement states:
“Today (Jan. 14th) marks the 1000th day since the bombings on Sunday, Apr. 21st 2019, targeting St. Sebastian’s Church, Katuwapitiya, Negombo, St. Anthony’s Church, Kochchikade, Colombo and Zion Cathedral, Batticaloa, as well as two top-class hotels in Colombo.
The government at the time of the incident and the present government that came to power using the crisis situation in the country as a pretext are using false attempts to achieve political ends instead of bringing the culprits to justice, and justice has not yet been done to the people who were killed or persecuted.
The entire people of the country are shouting that not only those involved in this heinous crime but also the masterminds behind this planning should be sought and brought to justice.
Nevertheless, none of that is happening, and we still hear only the great mourning of the people who cry out for justice.
It is the position of the National People’s Power that every person and group responsible for and planning the Easter attack should be brought to justice, regardless of their status.
The National People’s Power (NPP) is deeply concerned about the inability of the current government, which speaks highly of security, to properly conduct these investigations and bring those responsible to justice.

At this juncture of thousands of days, the National People’s Movement extends its condolences to the families of the victims of this barbaric bombing and to the families of all those affected and extend its support to all efforts to bring justice to the bereaved.
