Today (14th ) marks the 1000th anniversary of the Easter Sunday attack by Islamic extremists targeting Catholics in our country.
The attack left more than 300 people dead and many more seriously injured, with a significant number permanently disabled.
The government is currently facing severe opposition from Catholic religious leaders, the Catholic public, and the general public regarding the lack of justice for the victims of the attack and the non-implementation of the law against those responsible for the attack.
Recently, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith said that there were serious doubts whether the attack was carried out targeting electoral victory.
