The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) has informed the Matara Magistrate’s Court that steps have been taken to suspend the use and transaction of the ‘Browns Hill’ land property in Matara, allegedly owned by former Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
Following a motion submitted by the FCID, the court granted an order temporarily restricting activities on the property.
Reports further confirm that a 14-day window has been granted for any parties to present legitimate ownership claims regarding the land.
