Serious doubts have been raised over whether Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Badulla District Member of Parliament Nayana Wasalathilaka is engaged in a boycott of parliamentary proceedings.
Following the last parliamentary election, he has reportedly maintained a pattern of remaining absent from Parliament for periods of nearly three months at a time. A group of MPs within his own party has expressed strong displeasure over his actions, highlighting that he continues to enjoy all parliamentary privileges while failing to attend sessions.
Furthermore, he was notably absent during yesterday’s (25) decisive vote, where he failed to appear to represent the Opposition.
