A former director of the Krrish Group has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over allegations of offering a bribe of Rs. 70 million to Namal Rajapaksa.
The Attorney General has filed a case in the Colombo High Court against MP Namal Rajapaksa for accepting the Rs. 70 million bribe from the Krrish Group, which he claimed was intended for the promotion of rugby.
Earlier, on July 7, Colombo High Court Judge Nadee Aparna Suwandurugoda ordered the case—filed against Namal Rajapaksa regarding financial irregularities involving Rs. 70 million during the leasing of a 4.3-acre land plot at Krrish Transworks Square in Colombo Fort—to be called for hearing on November 16.
