Parliamentary sources confirm that the Supreme Court’s determination regarding the proposed 22nd Amendment to the Constitution has been delivered to Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.
The Speaker is expected to announce the Supreme Court’s decision to Parliament tomorrow (22).
The 22nd Amendment to the Constitution Bill was presented to Parliament on the 18th of last month by Minister of Justice and National Integration, Harshana Nanayakkara.
Meanwhile, the Committee on Parliamentary Business recently decided to hold the parliamentary debate on the 22nd Constitutional Amendment Bill on the 24th and 25th of this month.
