The assertion follows false reports circulated by political factions alleging tension between the Mahanayakes and the administration regarding draft legislation introduced to reform the judicial system.
The rumors were effectively put to rest on August 27 during the conclusion of the historic Esala Perahera festival. President Dissanayake attended the event, met with the Mahanayake Theros, and engaged in a cordial discussion. During the meeting, the Chief Prelates expressed their complete blessings and support for the President and the government’s initiatives.
