President Anura Kumara Dissanayake emphasized that the government will under no circumstances roll back its comprehensive judicial reform agenda and other key measures introduced for the benefit of the public.
Responding to misleading campaigns carried out by what he described as a defeated and fragmented opposition, the President outlined seven fundamental commitments during his address at the official Milad-un-Nabi commemoration ceremony:
Uncompromising Judicial Reforms: Proceeding with proposed judicial reforms without reversing any decision.
Zero Tolerance for Extremism: Ensuring racism and religious extremism find no space to resurface in the country.
Crackdown on Narcotics: Sustaining anti-narcotic operations continuously to wipe out illicit drug rings.
Supremacy of Public Will: Placing the power of the public above all else in governance.
Equality Before the Law: Enforcing equal application of the law to all citizens without exception.
National Dignity Abroad: Safeguard and elevate Sri Lanka’s respect and reputation on the global stage.
People-Centric Public Service: Building a responsive and efficient public service dedicated to the welfare of the people.
The President firmly asserted that regardless of the false narratives or pressures exerted by various forces, the government will move forward step-by-step with these progressive policies and make all necessary constructive adjustments to fulfill them.
