The Petroleum Development Authority of Sri Lanka (PDASL) is set to officially invite global energy companies to participate in offshore oil and natural gas exploration and production within Sri Lanka’s territorial waters.
A special media briefing to mark the launch of the “Sri Lanka Licensing Round 2026” will be held tomorrow (25) at 10:00 AM at the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) Auditorium.
According to PDASL, previous exploration activities have already confirmed the presence of commercially viable natural gas deposits off the island’s western coast.
The authority highlighted that the timely development of these offshore resources will ensure national energy security while providing a significant boost to Sri Lanka’s industrial growth.
