Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government Prof. Chandana Abeyratne says the luxurious houses given to ministers as official residences in previous regimes are expected to be reserved for foreign tourists.
According to him, ministerial residences with ancient values will be allocated for that purpose, which is expected to generate a lot of income.
Meanwhile, Minister Prof. Chandana Abeyratne said a special survey had been started regarding the minister’s bungalows.
Many matters will be investigated, including which residencies belong to which ministries and what properties have been allocated for those bungalows.
Meanwhile, Minister Prof. Chandana Abeyratne says that the move to provide residences for government employees has not changed.
Thirty-five quarters had been reserved for ministers in Colombo.
