Let’s dedicate ourselves to making our motherland a better state – AKD at Ministry of Defense

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake invites all public servants to work with one goal and unite to make our motherland a better state.
He stated this yesterday (22), when he assumed the duties of the Minister of Defense at the Security Force Headquarters in Akuregoda.
The President was received with great respect by the Ministry of Defense staff. He then discussed the current and future activities of the Ministry of Defense with the Commanders of the three armed forces and the heads of the Ministry of Defense.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has said that the new government is committed to good governance and expects everyone’s support in the country-building program.
The President emphasized that the people’s power is strong no matter what the laws of the constitution are, and the composition and shape of the mandates given in the last presidential election and the general election will reflect their expectations. The president further stated that the public service has given the government a mandate of nearly 80% in recent elections because this change has also become their wish.
As such, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that his government’s purpose as a political authority is to provide political leadership to fulfill the people’s expectations and that the support of public servants is needed to make this a reality.
He said that in this new transformation that everyone expects, it is impossible to move forward without confirming the public’s trust in the public service, and it is the public service that has brought the motivation for economic and social growth in every developed country.
Deputy Minister of Defense Major General (retd) Aruna Jayasekara, Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Air Vice Marshal (retd) Sampath Tuiyakontha, Chief of Defense Staff General Shavendra Silva, Army Commander Lt Gen Vikum Liyanage, Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapakse, Navy Commander Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, members of the security forces, and the staff of the Ministry of Defense were present on this occasion.
