A few moments ago, the Colombo High Court issued warrants for the immediate arrest of former minister Johnston Fernando and to produce him in court.
That is due to non-appearance in a case filed by the Bribery Commission.
When this case was called before Colombo High Court Judge Manjula Thilakaratne today (23), the defendant, Johnston Fernando, was not available in court.
As a result, a warrant to arrest him was issued.
Currently, he has come to the Criminal Investigation Department about the investigation of the discovery of a BMW car that was illegally assembled and used with fake number plates and was found in the Hilton Hotel’s car park.
He also avoided investigations related to this illegal vehicle assembly incident.
