Official poll results only… Avoid releasing unofficial poll results… Election Commission

The chairman of the Election Commission, Ananda Ratnayake, requests that all parties refrain from releasing unofficial results until the official results of the presidential election are released.
The Election Commission states that some social media networks are releasing unofficial results before the official results are released. He said all arrangements have been made to release results to the media immediately after the counting is over.
He pointed out that postal vote counting related to the presidential election will start at around 4:15 p.m. and said those who violate the election rules in the polling centers and the surrounding areas would be punished.
The officials of the Election Commission further said that if the election offices of political parties established at the constituency level are not removed, the police will be deployed to remove them.
