Announcement on presidential election before next Friday – Election Commission

The Election Commission states that the presidential election will be announced before next Friday (26).
The date of calling the nominations and the date of the election will be announced on that day.
Chairman of the Election Commission RMLA Ratnayake says that nominations should be called between 16 and 21 days after the announcement of the polls, and polls should be held between 04 and 06 weeks after the nominations are called.
He further said that discussions have already been held with the officials of the Ministry of Finance to get the money related to holding the presidential election, with the Inspector General of Police regarding security, and with the Government Printer. He said all have agreed to support the commission to conduct the election. 
Election experts say that the nominations will most probably be accepted on August 16, and the election will be held on September 28.
