Government Printer Gangani Liyanage says the Election Commission has informed her department to prepare for an upcoming election.
The Election Commission recently announced that the presidential election will be held between September 17 and October 16.
According to the provisions of the Act regarding the election of a president, the Chairman of the Commission, RML Ratnayake, announced that the nominations for the presidential election will be called within the specified period.
Government Printer Gangani Liyanage further states that if the Election Commission sets a date for holding such a presidential election, all the necessary arrangements will be made.
