Who is planning to murder Shani?

As soon as the Attorney General revealed to the court that there was a plan to kill the Senior Superintendent of Police Shani Abeysekera, former director of the CID, there has been a discussion that has surfaced in the society as to who the planners of the murder were.
Shani Abeysekera, as a criminal investigator, conducted many investigations that caused great controversy in the country. Among the primary such investigations are the murders in which the names of Rajapaksa family members are connected, former top officers involved in the naval kidnapping and killing of 11 youths for ransom, the politicians behind the drug trade and primarily investigations carried out to find out the brains behind planning and executing the Easter attack.
As the Attorney General has confirmed before the court, it is clear that who launched the conspiracy to kill Shani Abeysekera has already been found out. However, it is not revealed to the country and has been hidden from the people.
