IMF has also sent suggestions regarding appointing persons to the new Bribery or Corruption Investigation Commission, stated Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena in Parliament yesterday (24).
He also emphasized that due to legal deficiencies in the 22nd Amendment, making several appointments in the Legislative Council has been impossible, and there is no point in blaming anyone.
He said he would write to President Ranil Wickremesinghe regarding it.
The Speaker Mahinda said this in response to a special statement made in Parliament on the 23rd regarding the delay in the appointments of the Legislative Council.
