President Ranil Wickramasinghe says that according to the constitution, the presidential election has to be held in 2024. After that, the parliamentary and provincial council elections could be held.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe said this while addressing the UNP convention held yesterday (21st) at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.
The National People’s Power recently stated that they would defeat a referendum if it is held without holding the presidential or a general election.
