Acting Minister of Defense Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon said in Parliament yesterday (21st) that the attack like the one that was carried out on Easter Sunday may be carried out in this country again and that “Sonic Sonic” was an intelligence officer who posed as a terrorist.
He said this while joining the two-day debate held during the adjournment of Parliament regarding “Channel 4” revelations regarding the Easter attack.
Acting Defense Minister said, “Don’t think that Easter Sunday is the last attack that would be carried out in this country.” He said there are people with extremist sentiments inside and outside the country, and intelligence agencies are working day and night to find them.
The Acting Defense Minister said that the word “Sonic Sonic” was used in Parliament recently and that “Sonic Sonic” is an intelligence officer who appeared under an alias; he pretended to be a terrorist and infiltrated the terrorist network with great difficulty to obtain information.
He further said that the Parliament of this country was not mature enough to understand such matters.
