The establishment of three private medical colleges and the recruitment of students who have studied arts to nursing are moves carried out by the regime that will completely destroy free health services. President Ranil Wickremesinghe is directly involved in recruiting students who have studied arts for nursing.
It has been revealed in ‘Dinamina’ newspaper, published on Thursday, August 3rd. It states, “President Ranil Wickramasinghe, who drew attention to it, informed the health officials to consider recruiting and training qualified people in the arts stream.” Health professionals have revealed that the quality of the nursing service in Sri Lanka, recognized even internationally, will be completely destroyed by planning to recruit those who have studied the Arts stream. In contrast, those who have studied science stream for the A-level examination are ignored.
In addition, the government has approved the establishment of three private medical colleges with the full support of the Ranil-Pohottu coalition government.
