The Fort Magistrate’s Court has issued an order prohibiting holding demonstrations in several major places in Colombo against NPP leader Anura Dissanayake, Janata Vimukti Peramuna General Secretary Tilvin Silva and several others.
This order has been issued according to a request made by the Fort Police to the Fort Magistrate Court.
Accordingly, it is forbidden to hold protests today (31st) from 12:00 noon to 06:00 pm in the vicinity of the Presidential Secretariat, Presidential residence, Ministry of Finance, Central Bank, Police Headquarters, Olcotte Avenue from Fort Railway Station to CTO Intersection, CTO Intersection to Ceramic Intersection to NSA Roundabout including the Lotus Road.
Also, conducting protests and marches on York Street, Bank Mawatha, Chatham Mawatha, Mudalige Mawatha, Baron Jayathilaka Mawatha, in front of Police Headquarters, Scouts Mawatha. Chaitya Road, President Mawatha, Galle Road from Galle Face Roundabout to NSA Roundabout to the Presidential Secretariat Office and Galle Face grounds has been prohibited.
