“Our country has been caught in the trap of selling and borrowing by the families that ruled the country for a long time. President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is excited to receive 2.9 billion dollars from the IMF, took a loan of 12.5 billion dollars during 2015-19,” says Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the leader of the JVP and the NPP.
“In addition to the loan he took in his four years, Ranil sold Hambantota port and took another billion dollars. If our country is to recover using the path of selling and borrowing, the country should have recovered by now.
Today our country has become a black country in front of the world. This country should be built to be appreciated and respected in the world. Much work needs to be done for that. We need to build a country where the law works fairly for everyone. It should also be accepted that the police will execute the law fairly. It is the same in court. However, today, the majority of people have yet to believe that the justice of the law will be fulfilled. Therefore, the social structure collapses.
Nevertheless, building a civilized society is only possible if the people have confidence in the rule of law. If the people do not trust the police and the judiciary, they will solve their problems in an uncivilized way. That is why crime has increased in the country today. The rule of law should be confirmed to build this country as a recognized civilized country by the world’s developed countries.
We will form a government to maximize the resources available in our country. Establishing the rule of law in the country’s development is essential for a civilized society.
The NPP will be responsible for building a country that can conquer the world by providing new opportunities for our young generation and building the country that is today condemned to the guillotine of poverty.
Our economy, which was 85 billion dollars in 2019, has collapsed to 65 billion dollars by the end of 2022. In the Maldives, which is close to us, the per capita income is 13,500 dollars, and our income has fallen to a low level of 3000 dollars. These rulers have done all the destruction they can do to a country. We must free the people and the country from this ruling group and start a new journey.
The ruling group has prevented the election that would bring in a new government. However, we tell Ranil one thing. We do not give up; we will not fall into the pits of lies; we will sail this boat to victory very carefully and take the correct course. Every passing day will be made a day to confirm the victory of the NPP,” said JVP Leader Anura Dissanayake.
He made these observations at a rally held at Panadura a few days ago
