Postal ballots can be given in six days if money is received – Govt. Printer

Government Printer Gangani Kalpana Liyanage states that postal ballot papers can be printed and delivered within 06 days. All other printing activities can be done within a month if financial allocations are received.
She also states that due to the non-availability of funds, the printing of postal ballots related to the local government elections still need to be completed.
Gangani Kalpana Liyanage states that there has been no response to the Government Printing Office’s several written requests on several occasions from the Treasury to provide the necessary funds for the printing of postal ballot papers related to the local government elections.
The Government Press has informed the Treasury that at least 200 million rupees is needed to start the printing work necessary for the local government elections.
