“We will take this vote by hook or crook,” National People’s Power leader Anura Dissanayaka said yesterday (15th ) at Monaragala.
He said this while addressing the Monaragala public rally organized by the NPP.
He said, “What happened due to not holding the election during JR’s time? A protracted war of 30 years was created. Then, if the general election was held, the JVP would have contested it. They would have won several seats in Parliament. As there would have been a representation of the progressive people in Parliament, JR could not have created the 88 and 89 massacres.
Now, Ranil Wickramasinghe, JR’s son-in-law, has decided to go back on that journey. From today (the 14th), there are only 22 days more. There is also a court hearing on the 23rd. Only a few days are left before the election date. Ranil Wickramasinghe is still attempting to postpone it.
Government Printing Department never gets money before they complete a job. After doing the work, they are credited by the government. Invitations were sent to celebrate Independence Day. We would like to know from the lady, was she paid before the work was done? They sent a letter asking for money only for this job. Why is that? She is close to sixty. She is looking to get her term extended or go home at 60 and go to an embassy.
