The National People’s Power (NPP), which is contesting under the ‘compass’ symbol, is organizing people’s rallies across the country in connection with the local government elections to be held on the 9th of March. Rallies attended by thousands were held in the cities of Ambalantota, Galgamuwa, Nikaveratiya, Kegalle, Horana, Beruwala etc. Very successful rallies were also held in Kalladi, Eravur, Muthur, Keenya and other cities.
Political commentators say there is a large turnout for election rallies by the NPP, and it can be observed that it is growing daily. More rallies in many other cities have been organized, and leaders of the NPP are expected to address the people in these rallies.
