Galvewa Siridhamma Thero, who was arrested, detained under the Anti-Terrorism Act, and then remanded in custody, was released on bail today (23rd) by Colombo Additional Magistrate Mrs T. N. L. Mahawatta.
Accordingly, Siridhamma Thero was released on two bails of Rs. 500,000 each. It was informed that the Attorney General had agreed to release Siridhamma Thero with the condition that he should report to the Anti-Terrorism Bureau on the last Sunday of every month.
The Magistrate also ordered that Siridhamma Thero be banned from travelling abroad, and Senior Deputy Solicitor General Dilipa Peiris, who appeared for the Anti-Terrorism Division along with Senior Government Advocate Shavindra Wickrama, presented the facts before the court and stated that the Attorney General would agree to grant the relevant suspect conditional bail under Section 7 (2) of the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
The hearing will be called again on the 12th.
