Father Jivantha Peiris has submitted a fundamental rights petition to the Supreme Court asking for an order to prevent his arrest.
Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Western Province Deshbandu Tennakoon, Inspector General of Police, Army Commander, Air Force Commander, Navy Commander and Attorney General have been named as respondents in the petition submitted through his lawyers.
Father Jivantha Peiris has mentioned in the petition that the respondents are preparing to arrest him without any reasonable basis.
In the petition, he has further requested the Supreme Court to issue a decision that his fundamental rights are being violated and to issue an order to prevent his arrest.
