The protest in front of the Presidential Secretariat continues, demanding the resignation of the Rajapaksa regime, led by the President. The protest has now turned the protest site into a small makeshift town. As of last night (10), even temporary tents had been set up for the protesters.
Temporary toilet facilities, rest facilities, and medical treatment centres have been set up at the protest site. Separate makeshift tents have also been set up to provide food and drink for the protesters.
There is talk that New Year celebrations are going to be held at Gotagogama including all the New Year rituals and many are going to make Gotagogama the place to make their New Year visits.
