Ven. Omalpe Sobhitha Thera has questioned President Gotabaya Rajapaksa as to how many officials he appointed have been as responsible President punished for being involved in fraudulent and corrupt activities.
Sobitha Thero says that the lives of the people have become so chaotic that they cannot live and that it is unfortunate that the President is passing the blame on officials saying they are behaving in a subversive manner.
He said to the media, “Poverty and insecurity are at an all-time high today. People are in tears. The government sees all these mistakes sarcastically. The President attempts to put all the blame on officials. He says officials do not implement the good projects he puts forward. He says officials are sabotaging. Who appointed the officials? Who appointed the Cabinet? The President appointed all those responsible. Then he cannot point his finger at the officials. If officials make mistakes, the head who gave them appointments should be held accountable. We directly ask the President how many officials were punished for their wrongdoings., We are aware of the problems in all sectors, including the question of gas, sugar, and milk powder. Were legal action taken against any one of them?” he asked.
