“Country needs a revolutionary change” – Cardinal

A revolutionary change is needed in the country, says the Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith. He was speaking at the main Christmas service at the Thewatta Basilica in Ragama.
Speaking after the service, Cardinal said, “This country cannot be developed if it goes this way. This country needs a transformation. A Revolutionary change is needed. This trajectory must be changed.
The truth of this Easter attack, why it is still not possible to find out exactly who was behind it. Because selfishness rules us. So, we have to go for social purity. It is the duty of all of us to put the spiritual principles we believe in first. It is not only the duty of politicians but also the duty of citizens.
Today environmental pollution in Sri Lanka is at a very high level. Our society is deteriorating day by day. The beautiful green country is gradually being turned into a dry wasteland due to greed for money.
Christmas is not about eating and drinking. Christmas is about accepting our selfishness and making a decision that I will start in my life from today to ask for the blessing and strength of baby Jesus.”
