President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has decided to set up a Green Agriculture Activation Center under the direction of Army Commander General Shavendra Silva and to merge state fertilizer companies into the National Organic Fertilizer and Distribution Company under this centre.
The Center, which operates under the Commander of the Army, is tasked with encouraging the production of solid and liquid organic fertilizers in accordance with the standards and providing free fertilizer to farmers in a timely manner.
