The electrical engineers of the Electricity Board who have started a trade union action by working to rule decided to withdraw from maintenance work from yesterday (1st).
Accordingly, the electrical engineers withdrew from all maintenance work from 4.30 pm yesterday.
Meanwhile, Dhammika Wimalaratne, Secretary of the Electrical Engineers’ Trade Union, says that two Additional General Managers, including the Senior Additional General Manager in charge of the Electricity Transmission Division of the CEB, have been sent on compulsory leave without any justifiable reason.
He says that out of the two additional secretaries sent on compulsory leave by the Chairman of the CEB, the Additional General Manager in charge of Broadcasting is a very responsible and honest officer.
