The Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage states that permission will be granted to import chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides with effect from today (24th).
However, there will be no change in the government’s policy on green agriculture, he said.
He said that the relevant gazette notification will be issued today, and the gazette notification issued banning chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides will be cancelled.
He said this, participating in the media briefing held to announce cabinet decisions.
