The budget has wholly shattered the hopes of the people who are already suffering due to the skyrocketing cost of living, says the Information Secretary of the JVP Vijitha Herath.
He emphasized that the budget presented by the government this time will make the people not only sweat but also make them faint.
He alleges that this year’s budget has brought a mountain of debt down on people’s heads and has further inconvenienced the people.
Mr Herath says that the budget has not given special attention to education or health and adds that as in history, taxation and borrowing has been a priority in the budget this time as well.
