The government is carrying out organized propaganda stating that around Rs. 850 million has been given to various organizations in the country by a foreign organization to take action against the government. If such an act exists, the government’s failure to take legal action on the relevant intelligence information has exposed the government’s failure in another round, say political analysts.
Over the past two weeks, various government-run websites have carried out the campaign regarding funds being given to discredit the government. The Divaina Irida newspaper used it as the main news item in their weekend issue. Also, a person named Vijaya Dissanayake during the programme ‘Sivdesa’ of the National Television tried even more vigorously to confirm this propaganda.
However, so far, no proper investigation has been launched to find out whether such money has been received to carry out a programme against the government.
