Iraj Weeraratne, who had been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Youth Services Council, has handed over the letter of resignation following an order issued to him by the government to resign immediately.
The letter was sent to Youth and Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa today (25). He is a strongman in the social media campaign affiliated with the Sri Lanka People’s Front. He has been accused of creating several fictitious posts on social media that even heightened the unpopularity of the government.
