National television bares all!

The news broadcast on National Television at 8 pm yesterday (19th) devoted a great deal of time to launch a vicious attack on the opposition and the trade unions over the Corona menace.
Ministers Gamini Lokuge, Piyal Nishantha, Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Madura Vithanage were used for this purpose, and Buddhika Wickramadhara of the Pohottu party was also used.
A more interesting fact was that Sugath Hewapathirana, who claimed to belong to a party called the Patriotic United National Party, also participated with a red thread of Gnanakka from Anuradhapura tied to his hand.

The news broadcast failed to mention the request made by the Mahanayakas of Asgiriya and Malwatta Chapters to close the country and the written request made by the leaders of 10 (10) government-affiliated parties to the President to close the country for three weeks. The national television news is being broadcast in such an extreme manner against the backdrop of a loss of Rs. 159 million in the first four months of this year.
Meanwhile, in the evening news bulletin of the ITN, the first to be presented was the written request made by the Mahanayakas of Malwathu and Asgiriya Chapters and the leaders of 10 government parties to the President to close the country in the face of the covid epidemic. In addition, the news broadcast allowed comments on covid by both government and opposition parties.
