A team of CID officers who visited a doctor at the Avissawella Hospital who had posted a sensitive comment on his Facebook account regarding the problems faced by the hospital system and the rising Corona deaths due to the severe spread of the Delta variety has questioned him.
Commenting on the incident on his Facebook page, Dr Najith Indika states that while he was working in the corona ward, two CID officers had come to the hospital saying they had come on the DIG instructions. They had told him that the DIG had asked them to “check if the doctor was under stress”.
He briefed them on how the real situation of the corona outbreak had affected the Avissawella hospital and had sent the two officers away. He states that by the following day, seven more patients had died.
