We will unite all possible forces to fight against all the illegal activities carried out by the present government says former JVP MP Sunil Handunneththi.
He was speaking to the media at a protest held in Urubokka yesterday (11th). He said, “This government which denied the fertilizer required for the cultivation of the farming community has now taking away the freedom of the farmer community to request for fertilizer.
Today, the right to free education and the freedom to speak are being suppressed. It is not us who are being suppressed but the people of this country who voted for this government. It is the people who had high hopes for this government who are being to suppress by such action. The government should know that the people are ready to respond in the future if they try to suppress or trample on the people who expected freedom and rights from this government.”
Withdraw the Kotelawala Act which militarizes education! Book TV for kids’ education! Vaccinate students and teachers immediately! Provide suitable fertilizer for crops! The protest was jointly organized by the HOPE and the National Federation of Tea Smallholders.
