Despite the fact that the Criminal Investigation Department and other government agencies could find perpetrators of other crimes within a short period, finding and punishing those involved in the attacks that brutally murdered 269 people and more than 300 were paralyzed and hospitalized even after two years of the carnage is indeed an unsolved issue states Archdiocesan Committee for Justice to Easter Sunday Attack Victims in a statement.
It also states that there is a reasonable doubt as to whether there is any impact on the efficiency of the institutions conducting these investigations.
It states that it is the responsibility as well as the duty of all officers and authorities responsible for maintaining peace and enforcing the law to prove in practice that there is no room for anyone who plans, perpetrates and supports such barbaric acts of terrorism to escape the law.
The statement has been signed by Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo and several other Bishops and priests.
