The resolution submitted to the Geneva Human Rights Council against Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, received 32 votes in favour.
Countries that voted in favour included Japan, Germany, Italy, Mexico and France.
Only six countries have voted for Israel against Palestine. These countries are Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Malawi and Togo.
Eight countries, including India, kept away from voting.
