The Secretary of the Railway Drivers’ Union Indika Dodangoda states that trade unions of train drivers, guards and several other unions have commenced a strike.
The trade union action has been taken against the move to recover, under the Audit Act’s guise, the losses incurred due to operational errors from railway employees.
He also states that the railway employees will hold a special discussion in this regard.
