Drawing parallels to a similar action taken by the prison authorities in June 2018, Talatha Athukorala held a press conference last week where she deliberately distorted even the official statements issued by her own tenure as the Minister of Justice and Prisons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using that press conference as a pretext, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) led by Sajith Premadasa, the United National Party (UNP) led by Ranil Wickremesinghe, and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP)\u2014the political party of the Rajapaksa family\u2014jointly organized a protest march from Kandy to Colombo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the march has now completely failed, proceeding entirely without any public support.<\/p>\n<div class='saic-wrapper
