Gamage had earlier faced legal proceedings before the Colombo High Court over the same accusation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Notably, on December 21, 2021, the Attorney General\u2019s Department acted in a way that led to Gamage\u2019s acquittal.
