{"id":28348,"date":"2025-06-23T14:27:35","date_gmt":"2025-06-23T08:57:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=28348"},"modified":"2025-06-23T14:27:36","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T08:57:36","slug":"cid-seeks-statements-from-ex-officials-over-former-presidents-foreign-trip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=28348","title":{"rendered":"CID Seeks Statements from Ex-Officials over Former President&#8217;s Foreign Trip"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sri Lanka\u2019s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is set to record statements from two senior officials who served under former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, as part of an ongoing investigation into a foreign visit made during his presidency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to police sources, the inquiry focuses on certain aspects of the overseas trip undertaken by Wickremesinghe while in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two officials identified for questioning are currently abroad.
